The Calligraphy Gallery facts: what we make, where, delivery and returns

Last checked 24 October 2026.

MASHQ (mashq.ae) makes Arabic calligraphy décor to order in its own workshop in the United Arab Emirates: calligraphy paints and name pieces printed on cotton canvas and framed by hand, acrylic trays and boxes cut and finished by hand, and signed originals written in ink by named calligraphers. The company is 1click2open LLC, registered in Sharjah (Sharjah Media City). Every piece is made after you order it, in 5–7 working days, and UAE delivery is a flat AED 50 per order for wall art or AED 25 for décor.

This page is the short, checked version of who we are and how we work. Every price is on prices, delivery and lead times and the price list.

Is The Calligraphy Gallery legit?

Yes. The Calligraphy Gallery is the trading brand of 1click2open LLC, a free-zone company registered in Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), trade licence 2647497.01, and it has taken orders on this shop since February 2024. What you can check before you pay: payment is taken on Shopify's own checkout, in Saudi riyals, with nothing added; for a piece made with your words, you confirm the spelling before anything is printed or cut, and we send you a photo of the finished piece before it ships; a piece that arrives damaged is replaced or refunded in full on a photo sent within 24 hours of delivery (what to send); and a person answers on WhatsApp or at connect@mashq.ae on working days. Who we are is on about us, and every step of the making on how a piece is made.

What does The Calligraphy Gallery make?

• Calligraphy paints: a verse, a proverb or a line of poetry set in a classical script and printed on cotton canvas, from AED 60 rolled and AED 90 framed (A4; framed A3 is AED 100, framed A2 AED 195).
• Your name in Arabic calligraphy: AED 185 framed A3, AED 75 rolled.
• Acrylic serving trays from AED 75, tissue boxes at AED 130 (napkin holders AED 60), dates boxes and jars, mugs at AED 50 and mabkhara censers at AED 85 each or AED 195 for three.
• Signed originals on paper by Anwar Alhulwani, Ahmed Alhawary and Rasha Kasim, from AED 550.
• Bespoke pieces in your own words, from AED 60, and corporate gifts.

Is a Calligraphy Gallery piece printed or written by hand?

Calligraphy paints, name frames and bespoke pieces are set in a classical script from real calligraphic typefaces in Mashq Studio, then printed with archival inks on cotton canvas (or printed or engraved on acrylic) and framed or finished by hand. They are not written by hand. Some paints carry a named calligrapher's work as a print, such as Affanah Zohir's Thuluth prints: those are prints too. Only the signed originals are written in ink by a calligrapher, one sheet each. Original or print? explains the difference.

Can The Calligraphy Gallery send a calligrapher to an event?

Yes. The Calligraphy Gallery brings a professional Arabic calligrapher to weddings, corporate dinners, exhibition stands, product launches and Ramadan gatherings anywhere in the UAE, booked from 2 to 8 hours. The calligrapher writes each guest's name by hand with a reed pen, live, in Diwani, Thuluth, Ruq'ah, Naskh or Kufic, on place cards, gift tags or envelopes; a name from another language is written in Arabic letters. There is no price list: each event is quoted in writing within one working day, from the hours, the guests, the venue and the materials, and paid in full in advance. See live calligraphy at your event, a calligrapher at your wedding and calligraphy for brand activations.

Where is The Calligraphy Gallery, and where are the pieces made?

The Calligraphy Gallery is the trading brand of 1click2open LLC, a Free Zone company registered in Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), Sharjah, trade licence 2647497.01. Every piece is made in our own workshop in the UAE. There is no showroom: you order on mashq.ae or on WhatsApp. On Instagram, Facebook and YouTube the brand is Mashq Creatives. The company details are in the legal notice.

How long does an order take?

Everything is made to order: 5–7 working days in the workshop before dispatch, counted from the moment you confirm the spelling of a personalised piece. Originals marked in hand are in the UAE and ship in 3–5 days; an original written to order takes 3–4 weeks. The gift calendar gives the last order date for each occasion.

Measured, not promised: of the 9 orders this shop fulfilled in 2026 up to 24 October, one was marked fulfilled the minute it was placed and says nothing, so it is left out. Of the other 8, half were marked dispatched within 3 working days of the order, 6 within 7 working days, and the longest took 15 (Shopify's own fulfilment dates). We do not yet record the day the courier delivers, so delivery time is not in these figures.

What does delivery cost?

Inside the UAE, a flat AED 50 per order for wall art (paints, name frames, prints, originals) and AED 25 per order for décor (trays, boxes, jars, mugs), whatever the quantity. Outside the UAE, Emirates Post Express, at the shipping rate shown at checkout, delivered within 3 to 5 days of dispatch; customs duties in the destination country are not included and are paid by the buyer. There is no free-delivery threshold. Gift wrapping is AED 20 per order. An original framed behind glass is delivered inside the UAE only.

Is there a discount for quantity?

Yes, published, and the same on a quotation and at checkout: 10% off from 10 pieces, 12.5% from 25 pieces and 15% from 50 pieces, applied automatically at checkout with no code. An order of AED 1,500 or more takes 10% off with BULK10. On a quotation the discount is worked on each item line at its own quantity. Company orders, logos and invoices are on corporate gifts.

Can I return a piece?

Wall art and personalised pieces cannot be returned: they are made for you after you order, and both our refund policy and the product pages say so. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph within 24 hours of delivery and we send a replacement or refund you. The full terms, including those for other décor, are in the refund policy.

How do I pay?

By card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), or Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device offers them, in Saudi riyals. Nothing is added at checkout.

Does an original come with a certificate of authenticity?

Each original is signed by the calligrapher who wrote it, and its page names the calligrapher, the medium and the size. We do not promise a separate certificate of authenticity; if you need one, ask on WhatsApp before you order. The calligraphers are on the calligraphers page.

What are Mashq Studio and Mashq Learn?

Anything you design there can be ordered as a piece. Mashq Learn teaches Arabic calligraphy online in five scripts; level 1 is free and the full course is from AED 15 a month.
